CLINTON ROAD

Many factories in Beacon have been redeveloped into apartments and even retail space. We stumbled across this building while searching for another factory - which we never found. Since most factories in Beacon during the time were powered by water, Most of them were built along Fishkill Creek, which flows into the Hudson River.

To be 100% honest we have yet to discover what the use of this factory was, but it was defiantly a fun exploration. I do however believe the dismantled bridge over the river next to the factory to be the Tioronda Bridge. The Tioronda Bridge was expected to be dismantled in late 2006 due to lack of maintance. It was 'temporarily' closed in May of 1987 and never again reopened. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was a rare surviving example of an 'iron bowstring truss' bridge from the late 1800's. It survived over 130 years before it was dismantled 12/12/06.

But still as far as the factory is concerned, We'll all have to be content knowing simply its owned by a NY Corporation.
