It has come to my attention recently that allot of websites have sprung up, or become more popular. Most of them giving away locations to many of these spots.

While I know that helps many people that truly love going to these places, it also gives help to the people that go there to party or vandalize these places. The help is always great in finding locations, but half the fun in going to these places is finding it yourself.

We will give hints, or tell you if you're correct on your assumption of where something is. We will not sit and post exact locations. As for other websites, If they need help - we will help them, as many have helped us.

I just expect other sites to be careful with the information they have, and ask them to please not give exact locations to many of the harder to find or privately owned locations.

While I appreciate you're proud of your finds, realize that if someone gets caught, they can blame you for giving them the directions.

By keeping your pride in check, and locations under wraps, you're also protecting these spots for other serious explorers.

Places like Jackson house were demolished after numerous fires, cause by vandals and people looking for a place to party. This deeply saddens me. Locations are disappearing faster then new ones are popping up. We're losing what we love, by being too proud to keep our mouths shut.

And for the complete idiots that got these locations .. here's a great tips page ..

Read it... Print it... Write it on your fore arm.. for those who obviously cant read.. have your parents read it to you.

As with all things exploration of haunted/weird/abandoned places is something that everyone has their own reasons for being involved in, and varying degrees of dedication to the topic. There's those who get bored and occasionally visit such locations, there's those who really like it, but take it all lightly, there's those who are really dedicated and do heavy research and invest allot of time and money into it, and there's those who go to vandalize and break stuff.
As for the vandals I'm going to take care of them real quick and say GO F*CK YOURSELVES. All you do is ruin these places for the rest of us. Now that that's out of the way I'm going to address the rest of us.
I consider the two of us to be dedicated to this stuff. the time that goes into researching these places, (thanks tory) visiting these places, photographing them, maintaining this site (witch I'm always behind on, but it takes time and money to do so), etc. the two of us put allot into, but really enjoy what we do here. Also I would like to state that every place we have entered had been left in the same condition as we have found it.
However none of this is to be taken too lightly. there's 3 reasons why we don't post where these places are: 1 I don't want to encourage the vandals, 2 if u look hard enough you will find it... we worked for it, and 3 becaue YOU CAN GET HURT!
Now that brings us to the real purpose for me writing tonight. There's allot of things that can happen while your visiting some of these places. All the stories that go along with them, you never know where the truth begins. There's allot of dangerous people out there. Stop and think for a second, if you ever ran into a homless person in one of these buildings what is to stop them from robbing you, or worse, harming you. They have nothing to loose, you have money... seems like simple math to me. I'm not even going to start to lecture on the existence of cults etc.
When you enter a building you never know what's going to be in there but whatever you find it more than likely belongs there more than you do, or at least feels that way.
And I haven't even gotten into the thought of the dangers of the building itself. Broken glass, barbed wire, unstable structures, decaying roves and floors, they're all something that has to be considered before charging into a structure.
While I'm at it I should also bring up a point that a while back we both saw some kids thinking they were cool drive a truck through a closed garage door belonging to an abandoned house. Now the reason for concern there is that we had been in that garage no more than 10 minutes before, and I know they didn't bother to look inside before they did it. Had we left earlier or them gotten there later we both could easily have been killed in the incident.
I guess what I'm trying to say through all of this is be careful and be smart. And it can never hurt to be prepared and take precautions.  Oh, and if you happen to ask one of us for where something is, and we don't tell you, its for a reason.   Neither myself nor Tory want any thing bad that incidentally happened to someone out there on our consciences.
