CLINTON ROAD

Jackson, New Jersey - The new West Milford ? Not quite. But its got some fun shit going on.

We went to check out a few things, a pre trip sort of. Check where things are, Confirm whats no longer, etc.

While wandering to find various sites, That id like to thank Jeremy for giving us directions to, We found a few random things.

Our fav of the nite was a long dirt road through a wooded area. Goes along the Roads to No Where line, except as far as i know, doesn't have a weird name... Well, West Fish but that's not a Shades of Death road type name... and It has no weird/scary stories. Ill further look into it, but i doubt anything will turn up.  Was defiantly a fun little break from searching for things in the pitch black. Oh, also I'd like to add, we stopped a couple times to try to locate whatever was flashing in the woods. If anyone lives near here and can confirm wtf it was, we'd be grateful. Id assume the headlights flashed off deer eyes, but that would be red, this was blue.

Unfortinatly Jackson is a treasure trove of these type of locations, abandon, ghost stories etc, but most of them are no longer. The demolition of the Jackson house shows just how unreliable the future of these buildings is. So please, enjoy these places, but leave them as you found them.

Jackson House

Sadly the story is true, Jackson house has been demolished.

Said to be a fun trip, and very scary, I don't know the history of how this house came to be so popular.

Jackson house sat at the end of a dead end, fittingly so. McCurdy lane wasn't as spooky as everyone made it out to seem. Alot of houses adorn this street. Now instead of a scary old house, There sits a vacant lot, with filling in the foundation, and a partially gated yard.

The house was demolished in May of 2004, Alittle over a year after a fire severely damaged it. Probably insuring the demolition. (Makes you wonder if kids weren't so careless if this house would still be around for everyone else to see doesn't it?)

Article in the Asbury Press about the fire:http://www.app.com/app2001/story/0,21133,723685,00.html

We didn't get inside this house, But plenty of people did.

Farm

Covered by dense growth, This wasn't exactly findable at night. We saw a spot that a cop was parked in front everytime we passed..So possibly he was watching it, maybe not. We'll be going back for a day time trip to discover this one. In its time it was a large farm, now its been reclaimed by nature.
