The All Jersey Multiplex was opened in November 1991. The Theatre had 12 screens with seating for 3400, and parking for 1000 Vehicles. It was the first new theatre in the Newark area in half a century. Sitting on the site of the old Newark Cinema drive in the building has been abandoned since Sept 4 2006. While the company cited business reasons for the closing there was litigation that resulted in a settlement in favor of the properties owners in 1996 over the rerouting of routes 1 and 9 in 1987 which denied direct highway access to the property from the northbound side. Although its been cited that pressure from newer theatres in better areas, specifically the Lowes at Jersey Gardens lead to its closing.
